Student Biography

Kaitlyn Triebl is a fifth year architectural engineer in the structural option. She will graduate in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a structural focus and architecture minor. She hails from Glenmoore, PA: about an hour west of Philadelphia. Though she lived in Pennsylvania all of her life, she enjoys traveling. This summer she spent a semester abroad in Rome, Italy where she obtained her architecture minor. In addition to her minor and bachelor degree, Kaitlyn will also receive her E.I.T. certification up on graduation.

Kaitlyn's experiences have also taken her outside of the classroom as well. She has spent the past four summers experiencing various internships that have provided her with a full spectrum view of the building industry. She spent three summers interning at STV Inc. in Douglassville, PA where she got to experience the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and Structural departments. In addition to drafting and analyzing building system, she also got to serve as a mentor to high school interns and an aide in developing an organized intern program within the company in New York City. Most recently she interned with Grunley Construction Company in Washington DC where she was able to satisfy her love of history, architecture, and engineering with the Lafayette Building Modernization Project.

Other activities that Kaitlyn has participated in while in school include mentoring in the Student Society of Architectural Engineers, assisting in teaching the architectural graphics and CAD course, and doing structural design, drafting, and project coordination for a latrine project in Baoma, Sierra Leone with the Engineers Without Borders club. Upon graduation, Kaitlyn hopes to find a job where she can employ her enthusiasm and creativity in the building industry.
